The major exporter of White Pepper is Indonesia, but other important sources are Malaysia (Sarawak) and Brazil. Indonesian or Muntok White Pepper has a good overall appearance and distinctive flavor. Sarawak Pepper is bolder and more uniform in color than the Muntok variety.

White pepper has a grayish, cream color. It has a standard pepper flavor, with additional piney notes.

White Pepper is a warming, aromatic stimulant that is said to promote the health of the digestive tract and facilitates the digestive process.

Add white pepper to your white sauces and gravies to add the classic seasoning of pepper, without marring the beautiful canvas of your sauce.

White pepper is slightly more mild, but interchangeable with black pepper. Add the pepper to dressings, sauces, meats, fish, vegetables, or any dish that could use a little spice.

Sprinkle the pepper on at any point in the cooking process and enjoy!
