Capsicum annum

Capsicum peppers are native to Mexico, Central America, the West Indies, and parts of South America. The Spanish discovered the pods in the New World and brought them back to Europe.

Paprika has a deep red color and a milder, slightly sweeter flavor than its counterpart and capsicum relative: crushed red pepper.

Paprika has been found to be a source of vitamin C which can help boost immunity.

Paprika is an excellent spice to use when you want to add vibrant color and a bit of spice to any dish.

Deviled eggs, dips and cheese spreads like to pair up with paprika.

Add paprika at the beginning of cooking, or as a garnish after plating.
