Sinapsis alba

Mustard was the only spice the general population could afford during the medieval times.

Mustard is a golden to pale yellow with a full, mild flavor that generally has a hint of sharpness.

Small amounts of mustard applied as a paste have been reported to help relieve muscle aches and pains. Use sparingly, especially on sensitive skin.

Use in salad dressing to help bind the oil and vinegar and add a spicy zing.

Mustard plays well with sauces, dressings, seafood, pickling spices, and meats.

Add to dishes or sauces before cooking to allow the flavors to develop.
